From the International Day to End Violence against Women on 25 November until Human Rights Day on 10 December, the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence will raise public awareness and mobilize the community to end violence against women and girls worldwide. In Indonesia, a series of events are being organized to engage public interest and action on behalf of ending violence against women, which continues to be a serious social issue. An estimated 3-4 million Indonesian women experience violence each year. This year, the UN Secretary-General’s UNiTE to End Violence against Women campaign calls to raise money and #orangetheworld during the #16days, using the colour designated by the UNiTE campaign to symbolize a brighter future without violence.
